The government of South Korea buying rocket launchers from Israel worth USD 43 million to deal with attacks from North Korea.

South Korean government said the rocket 67 Spike NLOS will be placed on Baengnyeong and Yeonpyeong Islands located in the waters of the Yellow Sea at the end of this year.

Yeonpyeong is an island in which four South Koreans were killed were attacked by North Korea in November 2010. Similarly, as reported by the Associated Press on Tuesday (09/06/2011).

Israeli rocket was reportedly can reach targets as far as 25 kilometers and is also capable of hitting targets hidden. Currently South Korea also appeared to improve the armament system on their island, which borders with North Korea.

Tensions between the two countries on the Korean Peninsula is increasing day by day. Joint military exercises between South Korea and the United States (U.S.) recently also come under fire from North Korean Government.

The North had even threatened not to resume six-party talk and dialogue make if South Korea’s denuclearization keep practicing with the U.S..
